I'm worried it might chip and scuff like paint does. How durable is a vinyl wrap?
A vinyl wrap is incredibly durable and long lasting, and will last a player for the length of a season, sustaining only the scratches or marks that you would expect with a standard paint job. As an added bonus that you don’t get with painting, we will send you a number of 'plasters'. These are small, self adhesive patches which you can use to cover any unsightly marks or scuffs; something not possible with paint.
How long will it take to wrap my helmet?
We operate on a set time-allocation basis. Once we process your order and payment, no matter how large or small, we will book your job into a set time slot, so you know exactly when it will be done. Once your helmet has been received, we will turn around most jobs in 48 hours, and with a range of postage options we can make sure your helmet is back with you promptly.
Do I need to do anyting to prep my helmet before it's wrapped?
We ask for all helmets to have been stripped of all removable padding, buckles, face cages and clips. To ensure the fastest turnaround, we need to work with a clean, bare helmet shell. We do not carry out any reconditioning, so will not repair any chips or damage in-house. Should any work need to be done to prepare the helmet for wrapping, we will use a trusted third party reconditioning company, and we reserve the right to charge an extra handling fee of £5 for this..
Does the wrap provide complete coverage?
Due to the varying sizes, shapes and configuration of air vents, it may be possible to see some of the original helmet colour where the wrap cannot completely cover the inside walls of the vent. However this is very minimal, and often only if there is high contrast between the two colours e.g. a white wrap over a black helmet.
What it the finish be like - will it be factory quality?
A GameDay Skinz wrap isn't done by a machine, and isn't an exact science. Depending on the finish of the vinyl and the level of use, over time, small imperfections might appear, such as tiny air pockets or slight lifting inside ear openings and other holes/vents. Please be aware though that this does not affect the durability or integrity of the wrap and is an aesthetic issue.
Do you do face cages?
Due to the nature of application and the complexity of face cages, we deem that this makes wrapping a face cage prohibitively expensive. Therefore this is not something that we currently offer.
Does it cause any damage to the helmet?
Absolutely not. A wrap leaves no marks, residue or glue on the helmet shell, and causes no weakening, damage or adverse effects. Once the wrap is easily and quickly removed, you would never know it was applied.
We’d like our whole team to look awesome! But we’re concerned about posting so many helmets. Will you travel to our team and do the application on site?
Absolutely! For large jobs we would recommend an on-site application. To ensure predictable costs, we charge a flat rate of 60 pence per mile for teams in Britain, from which we will cover all incidental costs associated with our travel. We ask is for all the helmets you want covered to be present on the application day arranged, and a reasonable size space in which to operate (a sports clubhouse would be ideal, for example). After receipt of an enquiry regarding a team order we will contact you to discuss details and logistics.
Sounds awesome; take my money! How and when do I pay?
We accept card payment, PayPal or online bank transfers. I'm sorry to say we don't accept cheques, cash or money orders via the postal service. Payments must be made in advance of work being carried out.
I want our whole team to have a new design, but our club doesn't own all of the players' helmets. How will that work?
We understand the UK American Football as well as anyone, and understand that getting a full team of players to have the same colour helmet can be a challenge - especially if a proportion of players own their own helmet. Therefore for team orders we set an agreed rate, adjusting accordingly to any discounts based on order size or design required, and will honour that final price per helmet for any player for a set period (usually a month), so that they can also benefit from the team order and ensure that everyone has time to get their helmet to us.
Can you help us design our helmet?
Yes! With our full time design team in the US, we can help create any helmet design for your team and advise you on the best way forwards. If required, we can also help with traditional decals. For more complicated, or time consuming designs we might advise an artwork charge would be levied.
